Q: How do I learn more about the scholarship and how to apply?
A: All candidates can learn more about the scholarship on www.lightfootlegacyscholars.org.
Q: Will documents be accepted after the deadline? (ex: letter of recommendation, transcript, etc.)
A: No, all scholarship materials must be submitted by the 7/15/22 deadline. There is no exception to this.
Q: Should I follow up to check if my application has been received?
A: No, you will receive a confirmation email once you submit your application. There is no need to follow up. See website for additional timeline.
Q: What should letters of recommendation include and who can submit?
A: Official letterhead of school/company, recommender contact information, and recommender’s signature. The academic letter can be submitted by an Advisor or Professor. The character letter can be submitted by a mentor, coach, supervisor, or family member.
Q: Do I have to submit an official transcript?
A: No, unofficial transcripts are acceptable.
Q: Is there a GPA requirement?
A: Yes, candidates must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher.
Q: Are resumes a requirement?
A: No, there is no resume needed to apply.
Q: Do I need to be a full-time student?
A: Yes, you must be a full-time undergraduate student with a STEM major.
Q: Can I use my high school GPA and letters of recommendation if I am an incoming freshmen
A: Yes, incoming freshman for the Fall/Spring school year must provide their high school transcripts and can use their high school GPA.
Q: Will I be required to submit proof of enrollment if I am an incoming freshman
A:If you are selected as the winner, you must provide an official class schedule as proof of enrollment for the semester.
